From SJU airport to Isla Verde: car, Uber or taxi?
The ride from SJU to our Isla Verde apartments is short, so choose the airport transfer that best fits your plans.

A quick trip from SJU
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) is very close to Isla Verde. Under ordinary traffic conditions, the drive to Condominio Marbella del Caribe Este is about ten minutes, although congestion, weather and the time of day can affect it. Because the distance is short, there is no single best way to get here. Think about whether you want a car for the rest of your trip, how much luggage you have and what feels easiest after your flight.
We’re Ignacio and Jennifer, and we host three beachfront apartments here with our daughters, Dani and Julia. We want arrival to feel straightforward: choose your ride, come to 5349 Ave. Isla Verde in Carolina, and use the smart-lock self check-in after 4 PM. We do not quote a fixed fare because rates and taxi charges can change; check current options with the provider when you travel.
Uber: convenient for a direct ride
For many guests, ordering a ride through Uber is a simple way to get from the airport to the apartment without renting a vehicle. You can see the available ride options and the quoted price in the app before confirming, and you do not need to think about parking during your arrival. Follow the app’s pickup directions at the airport, since the designated pickup point and procedures can vary.
A rideshare can work especially well if you plan to spend most of your time around Isla Verde or use other transportation for occasional outings. With children, bulky luggage or a larger group, check the vehicle category and capacity before requesting. Availability and wait times vary, so allow a little flexibility after landing.
Taxi: a straightforward alternative
Airport taxis are another practical choice for the short journey. Follow airport signs and use the official taxi stand or dispatch process rather than accepting an unsolicited offer inside the terminal. Ask the driver or attendant how the fare is determined for your destination before you set off, and confirm the drop-off address: Condominio Marbella del Caribe Este, 5349 Ave. Isla Verde, Carolina.
A taxi may be useful if you prefer not to arrange a ride in an app or would like help with bags. As with any airport transportation, availability, payment options and charges can vary. We recommend confirming details directly with the taxi service on arrival rather than relying on an old estimate from a travel forum.
Rental car: useful for exploring
A rental car gives you more freedom if you plan to explore beyond Isla Verde, visit places across the island or travel on your own schedule. It is less essential if your plans are mostly beach time and nearby dining. Consider the pickup process, rental paperwork, insurance choices, fuel and parking as part of the overall decision, not just the short airport drive. Compare current terms directly with rental companies before booking.
Please note our garage clearance carefully: the height limit is 5′11″. Avoid tall SUVs and vans, particularly vehicles with roof racks, if they may exceed that clearance. There is one covered parking space per apartment. If you are traveling with more than one vehicle, make a separate parking plan rather than assuming a second space will be available.
Arriving at the building
Our apartments use smart-lock self check-in after 4 PM, so you can arrive without coordinating a handoff in person. Before you leave the airport, make sure you have the check-in instructions and any access details sent for your reservation. If your flight is delayed or your arrival timing changes, message us through your booking channel so we can keep communication in one place.
When entering the address in your map or ride app, include the condominium name and Carolina municipality to avoid confusion with other places in Isla Verde. Have the apartment details ready for the final approach, and follow building and parking instructions provided for your stay. A quick check before you leave the airport can save a lot of back-and-forth once you arrive.
Which option should you choose?
Choose Uber if app-based booking and an immediate point-to-point ride suit you; choose a taxi if you prefer the airport’s taxi process; consider a rental car if your itinerary involves exploring and you can use a vehicle within the garage limit. The short distance means you can make this choice around your whole trip, rather than treating the airport transfer as a major journey.
Whichever option you pick, check live availability and terms, allow time for bags and airport procedures, and keep your arrival instructions close at hand. We’ll be ready for your self check-in after 4 PM. We hope the brief trip from SJU is the easy beginning to your time by the beach in Isla Verde.
